The NIS pays its pensioners every 4 weeks, not monthly. The payments are issued for thirteen 4-week periods each year for those paid by lodgement to banks and credit unions, or twenty-six 2 week periods for those receiving cheques through the mail. The NIS urges its pensioners who already have bank and credit union accounts to make the switch from cheques to lodgement and gain immediate access to ALL your monies. There is no penalty for switching.

If you have any queries, please call our PBX at 431-7400, Contact Centre at 467-4647 or e-mail us at customer.service@bginis.gov.bb. Please see the link to the application form here: https://www.nis.gov.bb/digital-forms/banking-details/.

    Re: Rose-Marie Rapley – NIS 132188 National Registration # 570407-0068

I opted of early retirement Pension in September 2019 and have been receiving pension from January 2020.
This was because I was leaving the Island for an extended stay in the USA , before I left I filled out a form to have my pension paid directly to my bank account, however, I started receiving the pension cheques instead of direct deposit. Unfortunately, I left the form signed by myself and the Bank Manager on the Customer Service Desk with the Glass screen and obviously it got misplaced, so I just left the situation as is.

I recently got an NIS letter asking persons to consider having the pension go directly to their banks. I would very much like to do this but as I am now residing in the USA and cannot get back anytime soon (COVID-19) I would like some advice on how I can get this done.

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Best Regards
    Rose-Marie Rapley

    Hello,

This online form link does not work, https://www.nis.gov.bb/digital-forms/banking-details/, it leads to an error page.
