Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Cybersecurity will lead the design and implementation of the NISSS cybersecurity strategy, ensuring the protection of information systems, data, and network infrastructure. The role involves managing security operations, incident response, and risk mitigation, while ensuring compliance with local and international cybersecurity standards. The incumbent will conduct vulnerability assessments, oversee access controls, and lead organization-wide cybersecurity awareness initiatives. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and analytical skills to safeguard the NISSS digital environment and promote a culture of cybersecurity resilience.
Key duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and implement NISSS-wide cybersecurity strategy and policies.
- Manages IT security operations, incident response, and risk mitigation.
- Conducts vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits.
- Monitors network activity and enforce access controls and protective measures.
- Leads cybersecurity awareness and training programs.
- Maintains an information security risk register and assist with audits.
- Coordinates with internal teams and external vendors on security matters.
- Provides guidance and mentorship to security and property personnel.
- Stays updated on cybersecurity trends, threats, and technology.
- Prepares Board Papers as required.
- Prepares work plan in collaboration with supervisor.
- Assists direct reports with preparation of work plan.
- Conducts quarterly performance reviews and appraisals.
- Coaches direct reports.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the CEO.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM, CISO, or SANS.
- 5–10 years of experience in information security management, risk management, and incident response.
- Knowledge of local and international cybersecurity standards, including the Cyber Security Bill 2024.
- Experience in managing security personnel, budgets, and IT security infrastructure.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) and operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) is preferred.
