Pensioners - Pension Reform
“You can now retire at any age between 60 and 70”
Since January 1, 2003, several important changes were made to our pension system to ensure that future generations receive an adequate pension. See the changes below.
Increase in pensionable age
As a result of Pension Reform, the penionable age will increase by 6 months every four years from January 1, 2006 until it reaches 67 on January 1, 2018.
Other changes which came about from Pension Reform include the introduction of flexible retirement/pensionable ages. This means that eventually you will be able to retire at any age between 60 and 70. You can receive early pension from age 60.
