The NIS provides several benefits for insured persons for injuries caused as a result of work.
A weekly benefit is paid if you are incapable of working because of an employment accident or a disease.
This is paid to you if, at the end of the period for which injury benefit is paid, you are suffering from a loss of physical or mental faculty.
These are the costs, such as medicines and travelling, that you incur while being treated for your employment injury or disease.
A payment of $1,890 to assist with funeral expenses if a worker dies because of an accident at work or from a prescribed disease. For more information, visit the Funeral Grant page.
This is a weekly payment made to a surviving spouse, children and others who were dependent for support on the insured person when he/she died.
